Zak Designs Makes Inc. 5000 List of Fastest Growing Companies

Inc. magazine’s annual list of the 5000 fastest-growing companies in America includes for the second time, Zak Designs of Spokane, Wash.

“The Zak Designs family is made up of some of the most talented and hard-working people on the planet, and this honor is a result of their amazing efforts,” said Founder Irv Zakheim. “I’m incredibly proud of this achievement and I’m extremely grateful to all our employees and customers who made it possible.”

"The Inc. 5000 list stands out where it really counts,” said Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “It honors real achievement by a founder or a team. No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great—usually from scratch. That’s one of the hardest things to do in business, as every company founder knows. But without it, free enterprise fails.”

Founded in 1976, Zak Designs has helped make mealtime fun for generations of children who have grown up with the Zak Designs’ plates, bowls and tumblers. In addition to being the worldwide leader in licensed children’s dinnerware, the global company is also a top distributor of stylish dinnerware, serveware and kitchen prep products as well as on-the-go beverageware that’s designed to keep up with people’s active lives.

Zak Designs was first honored by Inc. in 1995. This latest recognition comes on the heels of back-to-back record-breaking sales years and is especially meaningful as Zak celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

“This is a great exclamation point on our 40th anniversary,” Zakheim said. “It’s always been our goal to give people around the world safe, reliable products that fit their lifestyles and help make their meals a little more memorable. A recognition like this is a great honor and lets us know that we’re achieving that goal, which is exactly what we want to continue doing for the next 40 years.”
