Best New Products From World Tea East Revealed

World Tea East, which took place Oct. 2 and 3 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, showcased some of the finest teas, wares, specialty items and cutting-edge products, including the 2012 Best New Product Award winners.

The 2012 World Tea East Best New Product Award winners, all of which were on display at the event, are: BUNN trifecta, Innovation Winner; TEA•RRIFIC! all-natural tea-infused ice cream, Edibles Winner; Northwest Glass Designs, Euro Cup & Saucer Set, Tea Ware Winner; Tea Tangent, Daisy Tea Nest Set, Accessory Winner; and Vintage TeaWorks, Cellar Series Tea Collection, Packaging Winner .

trifecta from BUNN utilizes the same air infusion technology as the commercial model trifecta that’s used in specialty barista shops and tearooms. The essential flavor oils of coffee beans and tea leaves are precisely extracted in three distinct phases to produce a deep, amplified beverage described as full cup.

TEA•RRIFIC! Ginger Matcha is a sweet bite of fresh ginger perfectly balanced with premium Matcha green tea. London Mist offers a distinct and refreshing combination of the malty and citrusy notes of Earl Grey tea. Masala Chai is a warm blend of Assam black tea, rooibos tea and sweet and savory spices. Additional flavors are also available.

Northwest Glass Designs’ Euro cup and saucer set is ideal for both cold and hot drinks.

Beautiful in its design, Tea Tangent’s tea-steeping set is handcrafted in America from sustainably harvested Pennsylvania cherry wood. The solid wood never gets too hot to touch, enhancing the peaceful ritual of tea.

The Cellar Series Tea Collection has taken all-natural ingredients and created six custom tea blends inspired by wine. Flavors like White Tea Riesling and Oolong Chardonnay present a unique and fun cupping experience. These teas aren’t meant to taste like wine, but rather to celebrate wine and tea’s unique characteristics.

In addition to the innovative companies and hundreds of products on the exhibit floor, World Tea East provided solid tea education, expert-led sessions, focused tea tastings and workshops. Other special events included a New Business Boot Camp, a World Origin Tasting Tour and a presentation of the Cha Jing Lifetime Achievement Award to Joe Simrany, president of the Tea Association of the U.S.A. Inc., the Tea Council of the U.S.A. Inc. and the Specialty Tea Institute, for his significant contributions to the tea industry.
