World Kitchen, the company behind housewares brands Chicago Cutlery and Pyrex, received two prestigious awards at the 10th Annual International Spark Design Awards in San Francisco.
PRIME by Chicago Cutlery received the highest accolade—The Spark! Award—and Pyrex gadgets received the Bronze Award, both within the spring product category.
The new brand, PRIME by Chicago Cutlery, is the result of three years of iterative development involving design, ergonomists, engineering and new manufacturing methods. Set to launch in October, the premium cutlery set was completely redesigned from tip to grip.
This unique line features an ergonomic handle with Responsive Touch Technology that conforms to the contour of the hand, resulting in remarkable control for a comfortable cutting experience. Beyond the blend of form and function, the sleek and well-crafted collection also features black German MoV stainless steel for elevated sharpness and durability.
"Our design team is passionate about solving problems and delighting home cooks across the world. With PRIME by Chicago Cutlery our goal was to create knives that are intuitive and comfortable to use, but could also be proudly displayed in the kitchen," said Tania Aldous, vice president of design at World Kitchen. "We're honored to be recognized with Spark Design Awards for these two incredible collections, in a field with so many great international brands."
The Pyrex brand has been a trusted glass prepping, baking and storage solution for more than 100 years. The March 2016 introduction of 13 new kitchen tools and gadgets signaled the next chapter in the evolution of this iconic brand. This line was designed specifically to simplify cooking tasks, save prep time and drawer space, and inspire confidence in the kitchen.
