Viking Culinary Sales Director Ledbetter Passes Away

Jason Ledbetter, director of sales for Clipper Corp.’s licensed Viking Culinary brand, passed away July 12 from a heart attack at age 48.

Ledbetter, a 12-year housewares industry veteran, specialized in representing quality brands to the gourmet housewares industry. Before joining Clipper, Ledbetter served in a sales leadership capacity with housewares brands Epicurean, Shun and Swiss Diamond.

Ledbetter began his housewares career in 2003 as a divisional sales manager for Lodge Manufacturing, based in his home state of Tennessee. He was extremely proud of his Southern heritage. His sales philosophy was based on developing close personal relationships with his customers.

“Jason really believed in the products he was involved with. His passion for the brands he was selling showed through,” said Jeff Malkasian, executive vice president of Clipper Corp. “Jason was one of the most genuine people I have met. He was always looking out for those around him.

“Jason is a good example of someone who put people over program,” continued Malkasian. “It is amazing how many people knew and loved Jason. He will be deeply missed by colleagues and friends. He had such a positive spirit and holds a special place in the memory of so many people. It is difficult to lose someone so young who has made such an impact on so many lives.”

Ledbetter is survived by his mother Carol Garst, sister Anita Foster, nephew Bryson Foster and niece Victoria Foster of Tennessee.

Visitation and a graveside service were held July 20 and 21 in Kingsport, Tenn. Memorial contributions can be made in Ledbetter’s memory to Sullivan Baptist Church Building Fund, 4152 Maplewood St., Kingsport, TN 37660.
