United Kingdom Appointed Partner Country for Ambiente 2017

The United Kingdom is the Ambiente partner country for 2017. Messe Frankfurt announced this at a reception for this year’s partner country Italy. 

“We are delighted that the United Kingdom is to be the partner country of Ambiente, the world’s leading trade fair for the consumer goods sector. The United Kingdom is a nation that stands not only for classic but also for eccentric and individual design. Ambiente is the perfect platform for inspiring both the domestic and the world market with its products”, said Detlef Braun, member of the board of management of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. 

After Denmark, France, Japan, the United States and Italy, the United Kingdom is the sixth partner country of the leading international consumer goods fair. This year, the partner country presentation was once again one of the magnets for visitors to Ambiente.

Numerous guests from business, politics and society came to the reception, during which Italian Consul General Maurizio Canfora handed the partner country globe to British Consul General Susan Speller and British Honorary Consul Andreas Fabritius. 

During the ceremony, Sir Sebastian Wood, British ambassador to Germany, said, “I am delighted that the United Kingdom has been chosen to be the partner country of Ambiente 2017. Ambiente is an excellent opportunity for British companies and designers to show their products and the variety, innovativeness and distinctiveness of British design, as well as to enter into a dialog with trade visitors and business partners.”

A total of 4,387 exhibitors from 96 countries showed their latest products at this

year’s Ambiente. With 137 exhibitors in 2016, the United Kingdom is the seventh-biggest exhibitor nation at the fair. On the visitor side, the United Kingdom came fifth after Germany at Ambiente 2015.

Ambiente 2017 will be held at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre Feb. 10 to 14, 2017.
