Smith’s Consumer Products Inc. has purchased the Fire Wire brand of grilling tools, including the top-selling FireWire Flexible Grilling Skewer.
“We are pleased to announce the addition of the Fire Wire products to our product offering. These innovative grilling tools have earned a place in homes across the world,” said Dan Glidden, CEO of Smith’s Consumer Products, a market leader in innovative knife sharpeners and kitchen tools under the Smith’s and Edgeware brands.
“As we continue to expand our business, we are always looking to add product lines that fit with our core business,” he said. “Fire Wire is a natural fit with applications in the housewares, hardware and sporting goods retail channels. We are excited about the possibilities to innovate in this new and interesting category.”
The original Fire Wire is a flexible cable-style skewer that allows effective use of maximum space on the grill. The skewer holds twice as much food as traditional skewers. It allows the user to marinate foods right on the wire inside of a bag, without having to handle the food numerous times.
The design of the wire allows it to remain cool to the touch, allowing it to be turned or removed from the grill without the use of other tools.
Also available are a Double Prong Skewer and marinating kits made from a select blend of gluten-free specialty herbs and all-natural spices. The Urban Accents special spices feature cracked pepper, garlic, and red pepper along with nine other seasonings.
