Six new showrooms, featuring a combined total of more than 70 lines in 12,000-plus square feet, will debut at the Winter 2017 Las Vegas Market, running Jan. 22-26.
These newest additions to floors C11 and to C1 bring the total number of gourmet resources at Las Vegas Market to more than 400 in both permanent showrooms and temporary presentations.
“Las Vegas Market’s gourmet category expansion is continuing at a rapid pace and we expect to announce more additions and expansions in the coming weeks,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift & Home Décor, International Market Centers.
“The market’s embrace of gourmet has been explosive, with nearly 100 percent occupancy on C11 expected by the end of 2017. This type of expansion is making Las Vegas Market the fastest-growing home decor and gift destination in the western United States,” she said.
Five of the six new showrooms –bambu home, Destination Gifts Inc., Fuji Merchandise, Prissy Plates and Vital Industries – will premiere on C11 in January. The largest of the newcomers—in 11,267-square feet—is Destination Gifts Inc., a new strategic sales consortium formed by Got Nevada Reps, Kolibaba, Rosemarie & Co. and Salesmark Inc. that will showcase 25 to 30 regional and national vendors.
Other newcomers on C11 include bambu home, manufacturer of eco-friendly dining and entertaining products made from sustainable materials, in its first permanent showroom in 387 square feet; Fuji Merchandise Corp., a supplier of porcelain tableware, kitchen products, cast iron teapots, premium Japanese green tea, paper products, kimonos, professional grade knives, Japanese decorative products and Japanese giftware items, in 241 square feet; Prissy Plates, supplier of tableware and decorative items with changeable ribbon for any season or occasion, in 191 square feet; and Vital Industries, a producer of screen printed glassware, clothing, and accessories, moving from a temporary presentation to its first permanent national showroom in a 234-square-foot space.
Additionally, well-known gourmet housewares and tabletop supplier Sagaform USA is opening its first West Coast permanent showroom in a 569-square-foot space on C-ONE, a dynamic cross-category showcase of directional tableware, gift and home décor resources.
Las Vegas Market identified the gourmet category as one of its strategic building blocks and launched C11 in summer 2015. Since that time, the floor has rapidly expanded to its current 60 percent occupancy, with expected sold-out status to be achieved by the end of 2017.
Beyond the concentration of nearly 300 gourmet lines on C11, the Las Vegas Market now boasts 400-plus gourmet-related resources across its 40 showroom floors and two temporary pavilions. As part of a related attendee building strategy, Las Vegas Market is continuing and expanding its partnership with two major housewares buying groups, the Gourmet Catalog Buying Group and the Housewares Training & Information Group (HTI). Beyond exhibits, the market also is extending its profile and participation in the housewares industry by hosting the 12th Housewares Design Awards at the Winter 2017 Market.
