Prepara, known for its elegant and innovative kitchen tools and accessories, has just discontinued its relationship with Harold Import Co., and is taking all sales and distribution activities in-house.
“Harold Import Co. has done a great job for us over the years with gourmet stores and specialty retailers,” explained Dean Chapman, president and CEO of Prepara. “However, due to our recent rapid expansion, we have been putting more and more efforts into developing our own rep group force under the guidance of our vice president of sales, Russ Johnson.”
Prepara has been bringing designed products for the healthy cook into the housewares industry since 2007 when the company introduced its Herb Savor. With the recent innovative product introductions during the 2012 International Home + Housewares Show (IH+HS), Prepara is focusing more and more on kitchen gadgets and accessories that continue to encourage a healthy lifestyle. At the upcoming 2013 IH+HS, the company is ready to bring additional original, healthy and fun products into the market.
As Prepara plans to expand its retail distribution, the brand is already being sold through key independent gourmet stores as well as major retail outlets, such as Bloomingdales, Sur La Table and Williams-Sonoma.
“Our strategy for next year is aimed at getting more branded retail space,” said Johnson. “We have a beautiful story to tell, and we want to share it with our retail and consumer customers. Certainly, the direct management of sales and distribution will be a huge help in developing more personal and efficient relationships with all our customers, ultimately benefiting all parties involved.”
