Paula Deen Returns Via EVINE Multimedia Shopping Outlet

EVINE Live Inc., a digital commerce company, debuted Paula Deen’s Kitchen March 25, including giving fans an opportunity to interact with Deen and her family in live Google+ Hangouts online.

Deen, who has authored 14 cookbooks that have sold more than 11 million copies, teamed with EVINE Live to sell a line of food and pantry products, as well as offer recipes.

“We’re thrilled to finally debut Paula Deen’s Kitchen,” said Russell Nuce, chief strategy officer of EVINE Live. “Our viewers have been buzzing with excitement on social media since we announced on Feb. 13 that she would be joining us. We look forward to welcoming her fans to the network, where they will be able to shop, share and smile with their favorite ‘Queen of Southern Cuisine.’”

During multiple live shows, Deen offered an exclusive assortment of food and pantry items for purchase, including her Signature Ham, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake mix, sugar-free chocolates and cooking-essential spices and rubs. She also presented a limited number of signed cookbooks and other exclusive products.

Fans also had the opportunity to chat with Deen and her family in a live Google+ Hangout where she shared family stories, favorite cooking moments and more.

Deen is considered a self-made success story who learned the secrets of Southern cooking from her grandmother. Her first business, The Bag Lady, started her successful career and led to the opening of her first restaurant, The Lady and Sons, with her two sons, Bobby and Jamie, five years later. In 2014, Paula launched the Paula Deen Network, an interactive digital cooking and lifestyle network that combines recipes, meal-planning tools and more.

Deen previously hosted “Paula’s Best Dishes” on the Food Network, but lost her contract after admitting to using racial slurs in 2013. She also previously sold housewares and food products via the shopping channel QVC. She launched a subscriber-based service The Paula Deen Network in 2014, and announced plans for a radio show and podcast in February.
