Fire up the grill, grab your pasta pot, tie your apron on! The Consorzio Parmigiano-Reggiano is sponsoring its second
international recipe challenge to discover how you like to use the "King of Cheese".
This year, Parmigiano Reggiano Chef 2014 is themed CrossCooKing, which is a
celebration of the modern style of cooking that integrates ingredients and cooking
methods from different culinary cultures to bring a new twist to traditional recipes.
The goal of the recipe challenge is to highlight the versatility of Parmigiano
Reggiano cheese by showing how it can be integrated into recipes from the
culinary culture of cities, regions and countries around the world.
Submit your recipe which reinterprets a typical dish from your own culinary
culture using Parmigiano Reggiano – the Only Parmesan – to the CrossCooKing
app. You will also be able to submit photos of your finished dish, a recipe
description or history, and the country of inspiration for the recipe.
A panel of chefs will judge and select 30 recipes from around the world to be
published in the first Parmigiano Reggiano CrossCooKing recipe book. There will
be a special surprise prize for the most interesting interpretation integrating the
King of Cheese in a preparation from a different culinary culture.
The contest will be on the Parmigiano Reggiano home page from now through July 18, 2014.
