Panorama Foods Inc. has acquired Daelia’s Food Products LLC, an Ohio-based maker of Daelia’s Biscuits for Cheese, Beer Flats Crackers and Daelia’s Honey Nougats.
The Daelia’s brands join Panorama’s existing portfolio of specialty foods brands including Original Trenton Crackers, Wing-Time Buffalo-style wing sauces, Buffalo Betty Bloody Mary mixes, Special Edition Salad Nuggets and Global Treasures spices.
Ken Meyers, president of Panorama Foods, said, “We’re excited about this new combination and the opportunities it presents for the Daelia’s line. Panorama Foods has a solid history of supporting and developing smaller brands in the specialty food space, and Daelia’s fits in perfectly with our existing portfolio.” Meyers noted that strong customer crossover between the two companies will ensure a smooth and speedy integration.
Maria Walley, founder and president of Daelia’s Food Products, will remain active through the transition. “I see this as a great opportunity to get Daelia’s to the next level,” she said. “Panorama is already in the cracker business and Daelia’s cracker lines complement the OTC brand very well, especially as it relates to Panorama’s strong presence in the winery channel.”
According to Meyers, this is the fourth product line Panorama Foods has acquired in four years. “Specialty foods is a very fragmented industry,” he said, “with a lot of small players who often have trouble getting to that point of critical mass on their own. We’ve developed a solid platform that fosters growth for some of these brands where they might not have succeeded alone.”
Panorama Foods sells its products primarily through the specialty foods retail and foodservice distribution channels in the United States and internationally. It is a privately held company based in Braintree, Mass. The transaction was completed on Feb. 11.
