First-time participation of several key housewares brands will result in an expanded and sold-out return of the Gourmet Housewares Show at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF), Aug. 19-22, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
A total of 175 exhibitors, encompassing a refined concentration of both housewares and tabletop suppliers, will participate in the second annual edition.
“Gourmet suppliers recognize new opportunities connected with participation in the NYIGF,” said Marc Delman, national sales manager. “Naturally, it offers them access to a targeted group of kitchenware retailers shopping for fourth quarter, but more importantly, a wide range of gift, home and lifestyle retailers interested in design-driven housewares products.”
Newcomers to the summer 2012 market represent a range of product sectors, from high-design silverware to everyday storage solutions. First-time exhibitors include: Finum (coffee and tea products), Ginsey Home Solutions (storage and organizational products), Lifetime Brands (cutlery, kitchen tools, gadgets), Robert Welch Designs (silver cutlery and tabletop), Tabletops Unlimited (cookware and serveware), Takeya USA (beverage and glassware), Uniware (cookware and housewares) and Vacu Vin (vacuum storage and cooling products).

Inc. Since its inception in 1975, the Gourmet Housewares Show has provided a professional marketplace for the gourmet products and upscale housewares industries, offering a comprehensive mix of innovative new products, leading resources and industry trends, and is the only industry event to focus exclusively on high-end cookware, cutlery, bakeware, gadgets, tabletop, kitchen textiles and specialty food.
Home Textiles
Meanwhile, Home Textiles Market Week, the largest market for home textiles resources in the United States, returns to the NYIGF as well as three other venues with some 600 bed, bath, linen and home fashion vendors. The other venues include Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94; 230 Fifth Avenue; and 7 W New York.
“New York’s market presents buyers with this country’s best home textiles sourcing opportunity, with convenient access to hundreds of suppliers,” said Christian Falkenberg, NYIGF director. “It also offers a value-added lineup of industry events, educational seminars, promotions and amenities.”
At NYIGF, some 200 suppliers will feature bed and bath fashions, such as table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics. Newcomers include: Cozy Earth (bamboo textiles), Echelon Home (bedding), HedgeHouse (throw beds, cushions), Le Cote Francais Maison (French vintage and antique furnishings), Poetic Wanderlust (home décor), Pyar & Co. (pillows), Simple Syrup Design House (decorative accessories), Stamattina Fine Linens (bedding) and Wabisabi Green: Modern Home Decor Eco Style (pillows, table linens).
