Mary S. Moore, owner and CEO of The Cook’s Warehouse, was the guest chef this passed Saturday morning at the Morningside Farmer’s Market in Atlanta, where she featured two special guests.
Sous chef Harald Wüsthof, scion of the German knife-making family and managing partner of the worldwide firm, appeared as part of Wüsthof’s 200th anniversary.
Chef Moore demonstrated cooking with okra from Crystal Organic Farm, and distributed her recipes for the Okra Cakes and Okra Curry that she prepared. A front-row guest for many years at the cooking demonstrations at the farmer's market was Lee Wiggins, who was honored by Moore and Wüsthof as she celebrated her 95th birthday this passed weekend. Wüsthof presented Wiggins with a special autographed knife set commemorating the company’s 200th anniversary.
The Morningside Farmer's Market, Atlanta’s first and only all-organic farmers market, is in its 19th season and is open Saturdays year-round.
