Las Vegas Market Sustains Gourmet Growth

LAS VEGAS, NV – (October 13, 2017) - Las Vegas Market announced today that expansion in the gourmet category continues, with five leading suppliers – Le Cluny, Mariposa, Natural Olivewood, Peter Pauper Press and Peterson Associates/Boelter Brands – opening and expanding showrooms for the Winter 2018 Las Vegas Market, January 28-February 1, 2018. The number of gourmet resources topped 500 for the first time at this past Summer Market and showroom space on C11 – the industry’s most dynamic new destination for gift-oriented housewares, tabletop and specialty food – is expected to be sold out early in 2018.

“Las Vegas Market is experiencing strong and sustained demand for gourmet showroom space as floors C1 and C11 approach 100% occupancy,” said Dorothy Belshaw, president of Gift Leasing and Chief Marketing Officer, International Market Centers. “Since the launch of C11 in Summer 2015, we have expanded our market-wide gourmet resources to 500+, making Las Vegas Market the industry’s west coast home for new and innovative resources, as well as the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States.”

New-to-market resources opening showrooms in time for the winter market include: Le Cluny, an importer of fine table linens and tabletop from France, in 500 square feet on C1; Mariposa, a gourmet tabletop and gift supplier, in 617 square feet on C1; and Natural OliveWood, a manufacturer of household and decorative items handcrafted from solid olive wood, in 585 square feet on C11.

Two current C11 exhibitors are doubling their showroom presentations in time for winter market.  Peter Pauper Press, one of America’s leading publishers of fine gift books, quality stationery, holiday and children’s products, is doubling its space to 1,920 square feet; and tabletop, housewares and glassware supplier Peterson Associates/Boelter Brands, is doubling its showroom to 1,350 square feet.

The newly-announced gourmet resources join other notable gift-oriented housewares, tabletop and specialty food exhibitors at Las Vegas Market, including: Aesthetic Movement (Sir/Madam, Fishs Eddy); Alessi; bambu home; Canvas Home; Chukar Cherries; Circa Asia; Design Imports; Eva Solo; Hammond’s Candies; Harold Import Company; JURA; Magenta; Match; Mepra; Olivia Reigel; Pepper Creek Farms; Reidel; Sea Stones; Sagaform USA; Skyros Designs; and The Travers Group (SodaStream, Joseph Joseph.)

Beyond exhibits, Las Vegas Market also is offering gourmet-relevant special events, networking and educational programming for buyers and exhibitors, including the return of the Housewares Design Awards to Winter Market. “Our ongoing partnership with HomeWorld Business to host the Housewares Design Awards at Las Vegas Market is evidence of our support for growth of the gourmet category,” Belshaw stated.  The Housewares Design Awards Celebration will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Las Vegas Market.  Tickets, which cost $25 per person, are available at https://www.lasvegasmarket.com/housewares-design-awards.

In addition to resource growth, Las Vegas Market also is continuing and expanding its partnership with two major housewares buying groups, the GC (formerly Gourmet Catalog) Buying Group and the HTI Buying Group.  As in past years, Las Vegas Market will develop unique and exclusive programming and activities for both groups’ members attending the winter market.
