New Kitchen Accessory LidSitter Launches Kickstarter Campaign

ALAMEDA, Calif., Feb. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The problem of preparing meals in a small, cluttered and busy kitchen has finally been solved, thanks to the out-of-the-box thinking of one part-time inventor. The LidSitter is a new kitchen accessory that gets pot lids and utensils safely – but not far – out of the way, without sacrificing precious counter space. The campaign's funding goal will make it possible to complete the fulfillment of orders for all campaign backers as the first step in launching into the consumer market.

"I designed the LidSitter for my wife to help alleviate the pain from turning and twisting around in the kitchen just to find a spot to rest a lid or ladle," explains Bui. "Another danger I saw was the risk of burning when touching hot lids. Amazingly, until the invention of the LidSitter, there were no kitchen accessories in the market that addressed the need to save space on countertops while also being ergonomic and focusing primarily on pots, pans, lids and utensils."

As a truly versatile and user-friendly accessory, the LidSitter offers a multitude of benefits. For instance, the annoyance of condensation dripping onto a stovetop or countertop will be a thing of the past. The LidSitter allows condensation to drip back into the pot, making for one less mess to clean up. Bui and his team have put together a compelling list of rewards to ensure the Kickstarter campaign is a rousing success. At the $10 and $15 levels, backers will receive one LidSitter with black handle. Only a limited number of these deals will be available. For $30, backers will earn one LidSitter with their choice of handle color, as well as fulfillment just two weeks after the campaign ends. A "Friends and Family" pack of 4 LidSitters is available for $55, while wholesalers can pick up 100 LidSitters for a generous contribution of $1000.

A patent for the LidSitter was filed in July 2015, followed by the development of prototypes and the sourcing a manufacturer. In January 2016, a prototype run of 5,000 units was successfully completed. Fulfillment of orders for Kickstarter backers is anticipated to run through November 2016, after which the LidSitter will have a full commercial launch – just in time for Christmas.
