Le Creuset Expands North American Distribution Center

The new space will enable the company to service growing retailer needs in North America and South America, and accelerate e-commerce growth.

French cookware manufacturer Le Creuset plans to invest $2 million to expand by 93,000 square feet its North American distribution center in Early Branch, S.C.

“Le Creuset is a beloved and dynamic consumer brand with a truly global footprint, and this expansion in Hampton County will directly fuel and support our aggressive growth plan over the coming years,” said Faye Gooding, CEO of Le Creuset Americas.

Last June, the company expanded the facility by 116,000 square feet, a $3.5 million investment. The forthcoming expansion will increase the size of the distribution facility to 300,000 square feet. This is the fourth time that the high-end enamel cookware maker has announced investment or growth in its current location, according to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, which noted that the expansion will allow the company to service growing distribution needs in North America and South America, and accelerate its e-commerce business.

Le Creuset sells its products through more than 1,000 specialty and gourmet stores, as well as upscale national chains such as Williams-Sonoma, Bloomingdales and Sur La Table.
