Premium artisanal ghee manufacturer Fourth & Heart, which introduced flavored ghee to the consumer market has closed a $1 Million Series A funding round with a lead investment from an anonymous private investor. The round was raised on CircleUp, and investment marketplace for emerging consumer and retail companies.

Currently the Fourth & Heart product portfolio features grass-fed, pasture-raised and glyphosate-free ghee in gourmet flavors. This assortment of ghee flavors can be found in more than 3,500 stores nationwide including Whole Foods Market, Central Market, Earth Fare, Lucky’s Market, Fresh Thyme, Kroger, Sprouts, Giant Eagle and other independent stores. Fourth & Heart is also available online at Thrive Market, Amazon and soon will launch an e-commerce section on its own site, FourthandHeart.com. The company anticipates closing the year in 6,000 stores nationwide.
