GC Buying Group Unveils Magalogue

Dallas, May 11 – GC Buying Group, formerly known as Gourmet Catalog, first opened in 1981 with a primary focus on providing a catalog service, enabling numerous independent retail members a cost effective way to  distribute printed catalogs and flyers.  35 years later, GC is proud to introduce the Group’s completely redesigned and reinvigorated 2016 Spring/Summer Catalog and Flyer.

“The dedicated and sophisticated consumers of our industry know what products to expect in a kitchenware catalog – that is why we created this edition to purely showcase cutting edge merchandise, and to captivate and inspire consumers to dream about using these products in the kitchen,” expressed Janis Johnson, President and Founder of GC Buying Group.  “Our intention is to enthuse the end reader with new recipes, latest techniques and alternative functions of classic appliances and gadgets, resulting in a trip to the local kitchenware’s store.”

Posing a fresh look and feel, the 20-page catalog showcases an assortment of merchandise from over 50 vendors and includes tips and recipes that are woven into the midst of classic cookware and modern gadgetry. The catalog is available in stores now and has already started to arrive in mailboxes across the country.

The Spring Catalog’s cover features Le Creuset’s colorful Oasis cookware line illustrating crisp, refreshing pastel shades inspiring the spring and summer months to come.  With Father’s Day, pool parties, and family gatherings just around the corner, GC’s Spring Issue will be the perfect shopping resource offering cooktop classics, prep, grilling and baking essentials.  “The catalog is a great way to reach new clients before the holiday season,” said Angela Skogen of Cooks on Main.  “Many customers even come to the store with an already circled wish list.”

Since the first catalog was introduced in 1981, GC has always offered logo customization, leading each store’s clientele to believe the catalog was created in-house.  Today, GC is taking customization to the next level by offering an Editable option.  By choosing this option, stores will receive the catalog in the raw file form, allowing store members to keep all content that suits the store’s image and edit layout, images, copy, colors, and fonts as needed.

GC is committed to bringing exclusive options to Store Members in order to broaden reach to customers, reinforce brand image and increase sales while promoting customer loyalty.  The catalog program is an important piece of marketing brought to independent retailers and vendors, offering exposure in the marketplace equal to that of big box brands that is affordable and customizable.  Because both print and digital versions of the catalog are available, the catalog acts as a full marketing solution that can be distributed by mail, used as an in-store handout or disseminated online through email, website and social media channels.

The re-energized catalog was a product of the hard work and collaboration by GC team members Emilie Bell, Culinary and Creative Director, and Maryann Samsa, Buying Group Director.  Bell’s passion for cooking and brilliant creative instincts allowed her to design a compelling catalog, with inspiration laced in the beautiful images, mouthwatering recipes and thought provoking tips.  With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Maryann Samsa was able to optimize the product selection process by featuring products that range from new and exciting to tried and true.  Together, Bell and Samsa are the perfect sentiment of how GC is dedicated to aligning goals and values consistent with GC Store Members while providing new ideas and direction.

With the introduction of the newly designed and released catalog, GC has already quickly seen a spike in participation of members using the program and project higher volume for the Fall Catalog.
