Gaea, the leading international manufacturer of Greek olive oil, in a strategic effort to claim leadership in the Greek olive oil category in North America, announced the creation of a new subsidiary, Gaea North America.
Additionally, Gaea appointed David Neuman as CEO of Gaea North America. Neuman, formerly president of Lucini Italia, is an experienced industry veteran and olive oil expert. Gaea’s appointment of Neuman and investment in the new North American subsidiary reflect the brand’s acknowledgment of U.S. growth potential.
“Success in the olive oil industry calls for expert knowledge, authenticity and genuine passion, and as such I am eager to bring my experience to the table. We at Gaea North America are truly excited to introduce the U.S. consumer to Greek olive oil, and look forward to soon sharing exciting news about many product launches hitting retail shelves this year,” said Neuman.
Neuman joins Gaea with more than 25 years of experience in the specialty and natural food categories. Formerly, Neuman was the president of Lucini Italia and previously the executive vice president of sales and marketing at Nature’s Path Foods Co.
He is also a certified master panel taster trained at ONAOO in Imperia, Italy. He and his ONAOO school colleagues founded the group, The Varietals, which is dedicated to increasing awareness and the importance of high-quality extra-virgin olive oil worldwide.
Gaea’s vision and mission is to be the leader in the category of Mediterranean Greek cuisine-meze in the international fine foods arena. The corporate strategy is to promote and sell in international markets and in Greece a portfolio of authentic Greek Mediterranean products consisting of both innovative value-added recipes and traditional ingredients.
