Frontier Soups has expanded its production and warehouse facility to accommodate the continued sales growth of the company’s all-natural, gourmet dried soup mixes.
The expansion includes the addition of two new automated fillers to increase capacity and 7,500 square feet of warehousing to accommodate finished goods, said Trisha Anderson, company founder for the Waukegan, Ill.-based business. “Our year-over-year sales growth continues to improve so we need the extra production capability,” Anderson said. “We also continue to invest in equipment that provides precision measuring of ingredients and greater productivity. The new warehouse allows for more efficient shipping just in time for our busy fall season.”
Frontier Soups’ two lines of soup mixes – Hearty Meal and Homemade in Minutes – are based on traditional regional American recipes and are crafted to create familiar flavors for a taste of home. Preparation time for all soups is kept to a minimum so they appeal to busy consumers. Each has a few grocery additions for homemade taste, allowing the opportunity to cross-merchandise for added sales, Anderson said.
Frontier Soups, in business since 1986, offers 33 soups, stews, chili and chowders. The gourmet soup mixes, including 27 gluten-free varieties, are available in United States’ and Canada’s finer markets, such as various Whole Foods, Central Market, Great Harvest Bread Co., Omaha Steak and Safeway stores, and independent specialty retailers.
