Di Bruno Bros. Cheese Shop Debuts at Giant Food Stores

Giant Food Stores, in partnership with Philadelphia food icon Di Bruno Bros., this week is opening a brand-new cheese and specialty food shop inside its grocery store in Camp Hill, Pa. To mark the occasion, the store will host an official Parmigiano Reggiano cracking on Jan. 24 at 11 a.m.

“We are thrilled to welcome the celebrated Di Bruno Bros. to our Camp Hill Super Store,” said Rick Herring, president of Giant Food Stores, the 200-store operator based in Carlisle, Pa. “By partnering with Di Bruno Bros., we’ll be introducing our customers to an amazing variety of high-quality, innovative specialty foods and products from Philadelphia’s authentic cheese experts.”

Open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, Di Bruno Bros. Cheese Shop features a selection of fine imported foods, offering more than 125 varieties of homemade, national and international cheeses, and nearly 60 kinds of cured meats and antipasti. Customers will also find crackers, jams, jellies, oils, and sauces. Di Bruno Bros. culinary pioneers – knowledgeable and passionate associates – are available to educate customers on cheese selections and help them discover unique meal or snack pairings and product preparation.

“While we have grown significantly within the Philadelphia market, we are excited to expand our business and the Di Bruno Bros. legacy into central Pennsylvania,” said Bill Mignucci Jr., president, Di Bruno Bros. “This partnership will allow us to share our spirit of culinary pioneering with Giant customers so that they too can enjoy the vast world of cheese and the numerous accompaniments available to create delicious and interesting pairings every day.”

Di Bruno Bros. has a significant history in the specialty foods market and has always strived to stay ahead of the curve by continuing to explore and discover culinary trends and developments in the food industry. Established in 1939 by Danny, Joe and Thomas Di Bruno, the company began as a small grocery store on 9th Street in Philadelphia’s historic Italian Market district, where the Di Bruno Bros. flagship store is still located today.

The company is involved in all aspects of the specialty food business, including importing and exporting, wholesaling and retailing, prepared foods, catering, and manufacturing. The Camp Hill Giant store will mark the fifth retail shop and first in central Pennsylvania for Di Bruno Bros., which was previously honored with the “Retailer of the Year” award by the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade.
