Dallas Gourmet Gold Housewares Awards Judging Panel Announced

The Dallas Gourmet Gold Housewares Awards, sponsored by Gourmet Insider magazine, recognizes exceptional manufacturers in the housewares industry exhibiting at Dallas Market Center. Housewares products have expanded dramatically at Dallas Market Center, with more than 300 housewares product lines now featured throughout the entire marketplace, including the housewares neighborhood in the Trade Mart.

The judges are:

·      Dotty Griffith, the former Dallas Morning News restaurant critic, is an expert on Texas culinary traditions and innovations as well as a cookbook author.

·      Jeffrey Kollinger, culinary entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience in culinary design, event creation, and catering management. He currently serves as the CEO of Innovative Hospitality Group (IHG), CEO of The Spice of Life Catering, and owner of the venerable Tillman’s Roadhouse in Dallas’ Bishop Arts District.

·      Jim White, major-market media veteran who has blended his passion for broadcasting, social media, and special events with his love of food, wine, and travel. Jim is the founder of Savor Dallas, author, radio host, and business owner.

The Gourmet Gold Housewares Awards will present awards in eight categories with a special Best in Class award selected from among the category recipients. The January 2018 award categories include Cookware/Bakeware, Kitchen Electrics, Kitchen Tools & Gadgets, Serveware, Cutlery, Barware, Kitchen Textiles, and Beverageware.

Housewares product entries will be judged based on innovation, user-friendliness, and visual  appeal. Participation is limited to current Dallas Market Center permanent or temporary housewares exhibitors, and products must be introduced to Market between February 28, 2017 and January 2018.

On-site judging will take place Wednesday, January 17. Winners will be revealed during an awards ceremony and cocktail reception on Thursday, January 18 in the Trade Mart 2800 balcony at 6 p.m.
