Dallas Grows Total Housewares & Gourmet Market

Dallas Market Center’s Table & Housewares FINDS will debut its new location adjacent to the Gourmet Market and has expanded by more than 30 percent since January. Table & Housewares FINDS showcases functional gifts, dining, cooking and entertaining wares, as well as clever items for the home. 

Key exhibitors include Guzzini, Kobenstyle, Majestic Gifts, MYdrap, Noritake and Yamazaki. Exhibitor expansions include Lenox, which has doubled the size of its space. Highlights of housewares resources throughout permanent showrooms include All-Clad Metalcrafters, BODUM, Boston Warehouse, Calphalon, Chicago Metallic Bakeware, Island Bamboo, Jura Capresso, Trudeau, USA Pan and Wilton Armetale.

Companies relocating within the expanded Gourmet Market include nationally known companies Carmie’s Kitchen, Lammes Candies, Pelican Bay Ltd. and Wild Hare Designs. In addition, Main St. Shoppe, Mercantile International/ChefPro, Leland & Associates and S.A.L.T. Sisters are expanding exhibit space. 

New exhibitors include Artistic Creations with innovative, functional hand-painted items, including Festa innovative wine products and cool sack insulated wine and beverage bags; Chef Works Cutlery offering professional and chef’s knives made in Germany; Jon Margeaux, a beautiful line of pewter-accented, dishwasher-safe glassware as well as domes, salad bowls, pitchers and other serving pieces; Le Popcorn & Candy; and Winchester Woodworks with bowls, lids, platters and urns crafted from a variety of natural woods.

Bob Coviello, president of HTI Buying Group, will present “Philosophy, Art, Science of Buying” on June 20. Coviello will share his insights to improve and upgrade buying skills to enhance a store’s per-square-foot performance and increase the bottom line. 

Coviello will also offer “Building Your Business by the Numbers” on June 21. In this interactive seminar, Coviello will present how to start up a business and will discuss key components of a store’s profit and loss performance statement as well as how to be successful at forecasting sales. Both seminars are open to all retailers.

The Culinary Stage in the WTC Hall of Nations will feature live cooking and product demonstrations by high-profile restaurant chefs June 20 to June 22. In addition, the fourth annual Dallas Gourmet Gold Awards will take place June 21 at The Culinary Stage. The Dallas Gourmet Gold Awards celebrate exceptional manufacturers in the gourmet products industry who exhibit in Dallas. The categories include: Best Sweet, Best Fruit Confit, Best Snack, Best Beverage, Best Soup or Chili, Best Condiment, Best Kitchen Gadget, Best Kitchen Textile, Best Tabletop, Best Cookware or Bakeware and Best Small Appliance.
