Culinary Futures Chicago Event Planned During IH+HS

The sixth annual Culinary Futures Cocktail Hour and Silent Auction brings together industry professionals and friends to benefit Careers Through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP), a national nonprofit organization that works with public schools to prepare at-risk students for college and careers in the restaurant and hospitality industry.

Guests will enjoy dishes prepared and served by C-CAP students from nine Chicago high schools, plus a selection of fine wines and locally crafted beers, a silent auction, and music by Chicago’s premier DJ Sean Alvarez.

All proceeds from this special event benefit C-CAP. The event is hosted by HIC-Harold Import Co., Conimer Corp., Primula, Fletchers’ Mill and R.S.V.P. International Inc.

The event takes place Sunday, March 8, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Ovation Chicago at 2324 W. Fulton St. Tickets are $75 and may be purchased here.

In the 2014-2015 academic year, C-CAP Chicago impacted the lives of 3,000 students in 18 public schools working with 34 teachers in job training and internships, teacher trainings, college and career advising, product donations, and culinary competitions that lead to culinary school scholarships. In 2013-2014, there were 30 scholarships awarded valued at $584,453.

Since 1990, C-CAP has awarded students $43 million in scholarships and donated $3.2 million worth of supplies and equipment to classrooms. To learn more about C-CAP, please visit www.ccapinc.org.
