Retailer Crate & Barrel has named Doug Diemoz its new CEO, effective Aug. 1. Diemoz is currently chief development officer of Restoration Hardware, where he oversees the brand’s global expansion, Crain’s Chicago Business reported last week.
Northbrook-based Crate & Barrel has been without a permanent chief executive since August after Sascha Bopp was pushed out. Adrian Mitchell, who served as Crate’s interim CEO, will continue as chief operating officer and chief financial officer.
Diemoz, 47, has spent nearly two decades as a retail executive. In addition to Restoration Hardware, he held a leadership role at San Francisco-based Williams-Sonoma, which owns brands including Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and West Elm. He also has been an executive at Gap and international fashion brand Mexx.
