The British Cheese Board, one of the country’s leading dairy industry affiliates, recently honored Glyn Woolley, chairman of Coombe Castle International, with a lifetime achievement award.
Throughout his 38 years in the English dairy industry, Woolley has taken great pride in seeing his dairies’ fruitful work exported throughout the world. In an award ceremony at the Royal Bath and West Show late last month, Woolley said: “Coombe Castle has won many awards over the years, but this one means more than anything else because it’s recognition by my friends and comrades in the industry of the ambassadorial role I’ve always tried to play for British cheese.”
This prestigious honor comes only two months after the Corsham, England-based company was awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, an annual award that honors companies engaged in international trade and other commerce. This is the third honor for Coombe Castle International, after previously winning the award in 2001 and 2007.
“This award … not only reflects the dedication and commitment of the Coombe Castle team, but also the loyalty [sic] of our customers around the world and of our suppliers here in the U.K.”
Coombe Castle International is a partner company with Elizabeth, N.J.-based Atalanta Corp.
