Best New Product Awards Presented to Five NY NOW Exhibitors

Five companies were named Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares Best New Product Awards winners at the NY NOW show, with Twig New York - Hankook Chinaware New York Inc. receiving the “Best of Market” award for its Cutlery Series.

This product and four other individual category winners are eligible for NY NOW’s “Best of HOME” Award, which will be determined by online balloting – at www.facebook.com/nynowmarket – during the Summer 2014 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, which runs through Aug. 20 at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares Best New Product Awards also were presented in four product-specific categories, including cooking (cookware, bakeware and small electrics); dining (tabletop, serve ware, bar/wine accessories, picnic/barbecue accessories, cutlery); gourmet accessories (specialty foods, kitchen and dining textiles, cookbooks, storage/containers) and kitchen preparation (kitchen gadgets, chillers, infusers, knives and cutting tools). Winners and finalists in each category were selected by a panel of editors based on innovative design, creative use of materials/construction, and use of new materials/technology.

“We made two key changes to these awards this summer,” said Marc Delman, Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares national sales manager. “First, we broadened the overall award to encompass tabletop as well as gourmet housewares, which is more reflective of the offerings at NY NOW. We also broadened the categories under the Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares umbrella to include gourmet accessories as a new, fourth category. The summer 2014 winners and finalist exemplify high standards in product design and performance, and offer form as well as function for home cooking and entertaining.”
