Award for Solidarity Cuisine Cookbook

Award for Solidarity Cuisine Cookbook

The famous Gourmand Awards organization has just presented the Bocuse d’Or Winners with a fine award, the best fund-raising publication award for their book Recettes solidaires-Solidarity cuisine.  This prize is justified because of the association’s strong commitment to www.babyloan.org, which it has been supporting since 2013. Babyloan is the leading European solidary microcredit organisation on the internet. Using the principle of solidarity lending as a basis, the prizewinning chefs at Bocuse d’Or are contributing to the development of micro-entrepreneurs in food-related areas worldwide: agriculture, restaurants, fishing, small businesses…

The book, which of course presents the Bocuse d’Or contest, primarily showcases the microcredit concept, Babyloan and examples of the micro-entrepreneurs being helped. Each of the association’s chefs donated a recipe that is available to amateurs with a passion for cooking, with a little touch of exoticism as a tribute to all the people they support. They also explain the motivations behind their commitment; whether it is the living conditions of the world’s poor, environmental or economic concerns...

Professor Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize 2006 and inventor of the microfinance concept signed the preface of a book, which he views as a fine example of smart solidarity. For each book sold, 3 € go to financing micro-entrepreneurs across the world.

Throughout Expo Milan 2015, the book will have a place of honour in the shop at the French pavilion. What’s more, 1% of sales from the Café des Chefs, the pavilion’s restaurant, will be paid over by Gl-events to fund new projects with Babyloan. Indeed, all the association’s French chefs have taken turns in creating a menu for the restaurant.

The book can be purchased at the association’s website: www.bocusedor-winners.com - bookstore section.
