Askinosie Partners With Bloggers to Create Chocolate Bar

Askinosie Chocolate’s newest bar in its award-winning CollaBARation line – Dark Chocolate + Coconut Sugar & Toasted Coconut – was created in partnership with ultra-popular lifestyle blog, A Beautiful Mess.

For the sixth bar in Askinosie Chocolate’s CollaBARation line, the company partnered with local Springfield, Mo., natives, Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman, the sisters behind the blog, A Beautiful Mess, known for its whimsical DIYs and twists-on-classic recipes. This unique chocolate bar echoes that fun approach and blends 65 percent lightly refined dark chocolate with organic coconut sugar for a bar that is then topped with toasted coconut.

“It’s really special that just around the corner from our chocolate factory, lay the headquarters for one of the world’s most successful lifestyle blogs. It’s both strange and serendipitous that two Springfield, Mo.-based companies would have such unique cult followings, and so we’d been itching for a way to work with Emma and Elsie –  the sisters behind A Beautiful Mess – for years,” said Lawren Askinosie, director of sales & marketing for Askinosie Chocolate.

“We’re inspired by their fun, down-to-earth approach to food, not to mention their drool-worthy photography. So we worked together to create this lighthearted and luscious chocolate bar using their favorite ingredient: coconut.”

Askinosie Chocolate began the CollaBARation line in 2011 and has partnered with five other specialty food companies to create this line of forward-thinking chocolate bars, using an ingredient or technique for which each collaborator is famous. Each bar exemplifies a shared passion for handcrafted, small-batch food and, above all, for directly sourcing the best ingredients from real farmers throughout the world.

Other collaborators include Lakritsfabriken, Intelligentsia Coffee, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams, Zingerman’s Deli and Café Pasqual’s.
