Almost 400 Newcomers Among NY NOW Exhibitors

Hundreds of new and returning exhibitors will enhance the vibrant product offerings throughout the summer 2015 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home + Lifestyle, Aug. 15-19 at New York’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Nearly 400 of the market’s total 2,600 exhibitors are expected to be first-time participants, with special concentrations of newcomers in both a NEW! showcase in the 1D Lobby and in the Etsy Wholesale pavilion as part of HANDMADE Designer Maker.

“There continues to be strong interest from both new and returning exhibitors who see NY NOW as the platform to reach thousands of qualified buyers from across the country and around the globe,” said Randi Mohr, NY NOW co-director and vice president. “NY NOW will deliver unparalleled sourcing and buying opportunities for retailers seeking products from well-established, as well as emerging, industry suppliers.”

While first-time exhibitors are well represented in all three collections at NY NOW – HOME, LIFESTYLE and HANDMADE – some 40 newcomers, representing a full range of home and lifestyle products, will be featured in an exclusive NEW! showcase in the Javits Center’s 1D lobby.

Within NY NOW’s HANDMADE Designer Maker section, the Etsy Wholesale Pavilion will feature handcrafted home and lifestyle products from some 22 designers. Participants include: Fullgive Leather (accessories), Year Round Co. (bags and screenprint posters), Twill & Print (accessories, clothing, home and living), Romi Ceramics and the vintage vogue (accessories, home and living), Cold Gold (accessories and jewelry), Almanac Industries (accessories and stationery), Native Bear (art and photo, stationery, home and living), AHeirloom Inc., Elizabeth Benotti, Ortolan and Shapes & Colors Textiles (home and living), ashware, Jill Zeidler Ceramic Art, and nelle design (ceramics), Oh Dier Living and Broderpress (home and living, kids and toys), Diamonds Are Evil and Voz Collective (jewelry), The Vagabond Queen (jewelry, home and living), and Worthwhile Paper and Paula and Waffle (stationery).

In addition to these two concentrations of newcomers, NY NOW will showcase nearly 400 new, and returning, exhibitors in its three collections and 10 sections this summer. Notable first-time and returning participants in the HOME Collection are: FlowDecor Inc., Lisa Jarvis and LolliProps Inc. in Home Furnishings + Textiles; and Auratic Inc., Magenta Inc. and Rolser SA in Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares.

LIFESTYLE newcomers and returning companies include: babydeedee and Urban Sunday in Baby + Child; Graphique de France in Gift; f. is for frank and Jo Handbags in Personal Accessories; and Bella Il Fiore, LADY PRIMROSE and Lubin North America in Personal Care + Wellness. NY NOW’s two juried categories – Accent on Design and the HANDMADE Collection’s Designer Maker and Global Design sections – will welcome an influx of new jury selections. In addition to these newly accepted applicants are notable new and returning exhibitors including Magisso North America, NEO and WASARA Co., Ltd. in Accent on Design; Lisa Neimeth Ceramics, LUprints and Swell Fellow in HANDMADE Designer Maker; and Helping Hand Partners, Ibikeye and Kamibashi Asian Art in HANDMADE Global Design.

The strong mix of product offerings at NY NOW will be complemented by a significantly expanded floor space and a healthy slate of new and returning exhibitors at the summer 2015 Artisan Resource®, a first-of-its-kind market offering U.S.-based volume importers, direct import retailers, designers and wholesalers the opportunity to meet with international artisanal producers.

Artisan Resource exhibitors showcase a variety of overseas exports enterprises and organizations offering handmade product collections and custom design production from around the world.

In addition to product sourcing opportunities, market attendees can take advantage of a comprehensive suite of seminars and events. Leading industry experts will dissect practically every aspect of business operations, including social media marketing, visual merchandising, tax preparation, demographics analysis, importing advice, and share savvy, actionable strategies.

A full seminar and event schedule is available online at www.nynow.com/programs and advance pricing discounts are in effect through Aug. 14.
