All-Vegan Delicatessen to Open in Miami in Early 2017

Atlas Meat-Free Delicatessen, South Florida's first purveyor of handcrafted vegan meats and cheeses, is opening a full-service delicatessen location.

The Little River District outpost will open for business in early 2017. The store will cater to herbivores, omnivores and carnivores alike, offering plant-based "meats" and "cheeses" that taste just like the real thing.

"We're so excited to bring our meat-free comfort foods to a larger audience," said Owner and Founder Ryan Bauhaus. "Basically, we make vegan food for meat eaters. Even die-hard carnivores get excited about the hearty, familiar flavors of our recipes."

The store will be modeled after a traditional deli, offering carry-out and prepared foods, and eventually, products for wholesale. The location will also host an array of events, including weekly brunches, outdoor barbecues, live entertainment and even a weekly farmer's market.

Atlas' products are developed from Bauhaus' own recipes, and boast zero chemical or preservative ingredients. The company got its start at the farmer's market in 2014. Since then, the local brand has earned rave reviews for its carnivore-approved vegan comfort food.

The Little River District location is currently in the midst of renovations, and the team plans to be open in time for the South Beach Wine and Food Festival in February 2017. Atlas will be the sole vegan competitor in the world-famous Burger Bash competition, hosted by celebrity chef Rachael Ray.
